“Behold, God’s dwelling
is with the human race.
He will dwell with them and they will be his people
and God himself will always
be with them as their God.
He will wipe every
tear from their eyes,
and there shall be no more death
or mourning, wailing or pain,
for the old order has passed away.”
The community of St. Isidore shares with you your grief as the death of your loved one occurs during theses extraordinary times of a global pandemic. We understand your desire to have a Catholic Funeral Mass for your loved one and we ask you to work with us as we try to provide the safest environment for you. The text and links below will explain how a Mass is celebrated, how to pre-register to attend a funeral and the guidelines that we ask all to follow. Any questions please contact Holly Clark at 508-947-0444 ext. 12.
Meeting the Family: Holly Clark will call the next of kin to arrange a telephone meeting or Zoom-type meeting to discuss the particulars of the Mass, the safety guidelines, and how to pre-register attendees.
Family Participation: The current Archdiocese of Boston Safety Guidelines do not allow for funeral processions thus the family will be checked in and seated prior to the start of the Mass. There will be no gift procession nor family readers.
Readings: The family may select One Old Testament Reading and One New Testament Reading (the links are to the left. The priest will read the scriptures selected.
Remarks of Rememberance (Eulogies): There will be no family speakers inside the Chruch. Remarks may be made at the graveside- 1 speaker, less than 5 minutes (600 words or less).
Music and Singing: During this time congregational singing is not permitted, therefore the parish will select the music. If you have a particular style you would like please let us know (e.g. traditional, comforting, joyful, etc.)
Pre-Registration: Holly Clark will send a link to the family so that they may pre-register those who will attend. This is a state and Archdiocesan requirement in the event that contact tracing is needed.
Attendance Limit: We are limited as to how many can safely attend the funeral thus we have asked the funeral homes not to publicize the funeral Mass and we ask families to keep the numbers to just immediated family and close friends.
Guidelines and Videos: We urge those planiing a funeral or attending a funeral to read the guidelines we have for attending Mass and the Guidelines for Funerals provided in the links below.
